About El Rancho:
El Rancho is a farm owned by Cadefihuila, a coffee growers association with 3,500 members, operating in 28 municipalities in the region of Huila. This cooperative brings together a significant group of small coffee growers in the region, most of whom own between two and three hectares of land (equal to about 5-7.5 acres). This guarantees that the coffee is processed correctly since most coffee growers work with their families and are responsible for correctly harvesting, processing, and drying the coffee.
El Rancho has been working with the association to bring people together to develop specialty coffees and work with different processes. The farm has been owned by Cadefihuila since 2013, and for about seven years they have been working with varieties such as Pink Bourbon and Caturra. They also buy coffee from other producers to take advantage of the processing plant.
